What's it all about?
Colon hydrotherapy is a gentle infusion of water into the colon via the rectum. I don’t use any chemicals, drugs or electricity, just filtered water. All the equipment I use is fully disposable and and I have been qualified for over 10 years, I am also a member of RICTAT and I am fully insured.
I am also a member of Seed Wellness and very proud to work alongside some amazing therapists working together to bring about total wellbeing.
The colon hydrotherapy treatment lasts approximately 45 minutes. A small speculum is inserted into the patient, this has one small inlet tube for running warm filtered water into the colon and one larger outlet tube for the colon waste. It is very interesting to watch what is expelled via a camera as you can learn so much about your digestive health.
In the beginning
I started travelling the world as airline crew when I was just twenty, this gave me a wonderful opportunity to try all sorts of therapies! From having reflexology in India, cupping in China and colonics in Hong Kong, but I had a life changing experience in Koh Samui, Thailand at “Spa Samui” on a seven day juice cleanse in 1999!
After seven days of juice, two coffee enemas a day, reflexology, massage and yoga I was not only 16lbs lighter, but I realised for the first time at the age of 30 that all wellbeing really does begin with a healthy gut!!!!
After returning to the UK I did not use my asthma drugs for over a year and all my cellulite disappeared and happily after a year of trying I got pregnant 4 weeks later.
Who has colonics with me?
My clientele is so varied and is now around 60% women 40% men, it’s so wonderful to see more men embracing alternative therapies and taking control of their gut health and well-being.
I also have a growing clientele between the ages of 25-35, I think this is due to the growing interest in mental health and the link between the gut & brain (the brain gut connection).
Obviously I see many clients with underlying gut problems like IBS (constipation), IBS (diarrhoea), Leaky Gut Syndrome & Dysbiosis (imbalance of gut flora). Many of these clients have had many tests and hospital visits but never find the answers to there problems, but this is why I work with naturopaths, nutritionist and functional medicine experts to look at the client as a whole and work on their mental & physical well-being.
